Most people know Ron Turner as the author of the popular ClicTab software, but few realize that he is an accomplished steel player and composer as well. Except for the classic "Sleepwalk", this CD is all original Ron Turner compositions. Guitarists Seth Bowden and James Felix add variety to the lead voicings, and Forum member Steve Miller shares the steel limelight on three tunes, but all of the backing instruments were arranged and performed by Ron.
The smooth jazz genre is one of funky grooves and bluesy lead lines. Ron is obviously a big fan of this kind of music, and he plays it well. This CD is the kind of music I like to put on while I work, to add some steel background to my life. It just makes me feel good.
