Peggy Green

SORRY, SOLD OUT
"My Voice"
This is a fine country pedal steel album, well played and well mixed. Peggy Green's playing is every bit as good as her choice of material. She seems to be as comfortable playing country on the C6th as she is on E9th - several tunes were half over before I realized she was on the back neck. My favorite cut, though, is her novel Pedabro arrangement of Tears in Heaven.

SORRY, SOLD OUT
We got our first tantalizing taste of Peggy Green's Pedabro playing on her "My Voice" CD. For her latest effort, Peggy takes us into uncharted waters. The entire album is played on the Pedabro, with no accompaniment. The result is intimate, introspective and ultimately very beautiful. Peggy recorded most of the album while living in Japan, and the Far Eastern influence is felt on many of the songs. But there is still a lot of country, blues, and even Hawaiian influence in her approach to the acoustic pedal steel.
I call this CD a stress-buster. I have no idea how Peggy gets all of those pretty chords and melodies out of one instrument, and I really don't care. This is one of the most unique CDs in our catalog. Solo Pedabro - the possibilities are endless!
